Bangor Greendrinks October

Tuesday evening I attended Bangor Greendrinks at the Penobscot County Conservation Association in Brewer. If you haven’t heard of Greendrinks it’s an organization that gives local businesses an opportunity to connect to the community and highlight how they are operating in a green, sustainable manner. This is also a great opportunity for people to go to a local business after hours and see what they are about in a no pressure situation.

Bangor Greendrinks are always held on the second Tuesday of each month, the location and host always change so the best way to stay informed is by joining their email list. There is no charge to attend the events, but they do suggest a $5 donation.  There is always food to snack on and of course Free Beer, Bring your own glass.

The event at the Penobscot County Conservation Association was co-hosted by Edward, Faust & Smith who provided the food. They featured locally sourced items including cheese from Pineland Farms, apples from Conant Orchards, crackers and pumpkin bread. Drinks included Gearhead Ale from Black Bear Microbrewery, Conant’s apple cider mixed with Twenty-2 Vodka and regular apple cider for the kids.

Greendrinks isn’t a new event for me, I try to attend whenever possible, it’s a great opportunity to socialize and network with likeminded individuals, learn about local businesses and their efforts to be green and did I mention the beer is FREE? Hope to see you next month.
