So my buddy Pat threw out the idea, “Hey, why dont you do the 12 days of Christmas” and of course my reaction, Challenge Accepted. Today is the first day of my 12 days of Beermas posts, I’ll be putting up a new beer review every day for the 12 days. On the first day of Beermas……
Name: Samuel Adams White Christmas
Brewed by: Boston Beer Company
ABV: 5.8%
Purchased: Burby and Bates, Orono Maine
Style: Witbier
Samuel Adams White Christmas is a limited released unfiltered white ale brewed with spices.
White Christmas pours a hazy yellow with gold highlights and a thick white head.
Smells very clean, definitely picking up some wheat, I can’t smell any of the spices but I am picking up a hint of citrus, oranges mostly.
White Christmas is a very easy drinking beer; there is a citrusy orange flavor that works really well with the subtle holiday spices. It has a wheat bread flavor but it’s not overly malty.
Overall a tasty beer, I don’t generally reach for white ale around Christmas but this one works. Very smooth drinking beer that is flavorful and not too spiced up, I would recommend picking up a six pack on your way to a holiday party while it’s still available.
Cheers!
