Drink’n Think’n is a Maine based podcast hosted by Ben Lizzotte, Ryan Poland and the one and only Tony C. The trio of hosts met while attending the University of Southern Maine and decided to record their thoughts after an evening of imbibing at the Sebago Brewpub in Gorham, Drink’n Think’n was born.
Never claiming to be experts on anything the show is a blend of beer, wrestling, movies, TV, pop culture and whatever else the guys feel like discussing. Sometimes Crude, even immature but always amusing the show can best be described as “drinking buddies shooting the shit”.

Question 1: What is your all Maine brewery dream team-up? And why?
Ben: Rising Tide and Marshall Wharf – The breweries behind two of Maine’s best IPA’s combine forces to kick you in the face with hops, blow your mind, and wreck your palate. The world as you know it ceases to exist. And of course the label depicts Rising Tides “man in boat” logo paddling up to… you guessed it, a wharf! BOOM! You guys can have that one for free.
Tony: Oxbow, Funky Bow, Marshall Wharf and Rising Tide. Just think of the blend of farmhouse-y, floral hops and delicious nectar this bunch would create
Ryan:Oxbow and Rising Tide are my two favorite Maine breweries going right now. I’ve never had a bad brew from either and I think they could do something magical together. Throw some Marshall Wharf in the mix and then we’ll be cooking with peanut oil. I’m a fan of the IPA’s Rising Tide has to offer and I think if the three of these breweries worked together to make one, I’d be in beer heaven.
Question 2: What would your Maine + U.S Brewery Team-up look like?
Ben: Allagash and Anchorage – East meets west. This one is going to get funky. Perhaps from some brett or maybe we’ll let nature get all up in this brew as it chills outside in a koelschip. Pucker up because this one is going to be nice and tart. Don’t even get me going on the alliteration possibilities when it comes to a name.
Tony: It would be awesome to have Sebago and Boulevard Breweries collaborate. Breweries from Maine and Missouri to develop a series called the Missouri Compromise they can brew seasonals throughout the year.
Ryan: Just because I’m a sucker for New England, I’d probably like something between someone like Harpoon Brewery and Shipyard – Sea Dog. I took a tour of Harpoon a few years back and could have crushed their Raspberry Hefeweizen all day (ALL DAY!) and I like Sea Dog’s blueberry beer so something along those lines might be kind of cool.
Question 3: What would your Maine + International Brewery team up look like?
Ben: Oxbow and Dupont – The Belgian inspired “goods from the woods” tag teams with the traditional Belgium farmhouse brewery to create the saison to rule all saisons. I’m thinking something low in alcohol and thirst quenching. You’ll be crushing these ALL DAY.
Tony: Newcastle (UK) and Oxbow (USA) merely for the Newcastle connection
Ryan: Maybe Smithwick’s and Sebago Brewing could put together a nice treat. Sebago opened my eyes to good beer with their Runabout Red and Smithwick’s is a safe bet when I go to my local pub.
Question 4: Free for all! Anything goes here as long as there is 1 Maine brewery involved.
Ben:A Maine Brewers Battle Royal. With what seems like a new brewery popping up on a daily basis it’s time to gather Maine’s top 30 breweries and have them face off. Think of it as the Royal Rumble of Maine beer but instead of being thrown over the top rope, you’re throwing back beers. All hands on deck to produce the one beer that defines Maine. What that would be, I’m not sure (probably pine trees and lobster) but with all that talent I’m sure they could figure it out. Screw the chickadee; it’s time to come up with the Maine state beer.
Ryan:This is hard question to answer. I think I would have to agree with Ben in that it would be cool to have a free for all with all of Maine’s great breweries. We have so many awesome brews to choose from and it would be really hard to determine which brewery is best.
