Novare Res Bier Café invites actor Bill Murray out for drinks

Novare Res Bier Café in Portland, Maine doesn’t mess around when it comes to craft beer and craft beer events, you never quite know what’s coming down the line until the poster is revealed and the next great event is in the works.

This is the newest poster, an open invite to Bill Murray:

Murray

“We would like to cordially invite you to come visit and have a few beers with us.”

Not just any beers mind you, Bill Murray inspired beers brewed specifically for this Portland Beer Week event by local Maine brewers. With Bill Murray’s catalog of films there should be no lack of inspiration for the brewers, the only question is, will Bill show up?

I emailed Shahin Khojastehzad at Novare and asked him how they landed on this event, “Wanted to shake up Portland Beer Week and make this social experiment happen! This unifies our scene and to be honest, Bill Murray is fucking awesome!” Shahin went on to tell me how they came up with the idea “Months ago a bunch of Novare employees were hanging out after work and started the debate, “If Bill Murray was a beer what would he be?” We came up with some gems: Gosebusters, Pils Murray, Zissou Oyster Stout, Buffalo Roam Rauch, Rushmore Red, Darjeeling Jasmine IPA, Etc!! We mainly want this to be a Gonzo campaign of weirdos who love beer and Bill!”

The list of brewers and Bill Murray inspired beers isn’t official yet but the participant list so far is pretty impressive, keep an eye out for updates and expect some fun brews for this event.

Portland Beer Week runs November 1, 2014 through November 7, 2014, check their website and facebook page for schedule updates. Novare’s Bill Murray event will be held on November 5th.
