Caution: Growler on board

I am a fan of growlers, to try and tell you otherwise would simply be a lie. Just look at my blog it’s pretty telling. So naturally I travel with growlers, and travel for growlers so how do I do this safely? I do own a small cooler I purchased a few years back that’s sized specifically to hold two 64oz. growlers, it’s great but I usually forget it after I’ve brought it inside to put the growlers in the fridge. There have been many a time when I buckled them into my kids car seats, but that doesn’t work when the boys are travelling with me. Wrap them in a blanket? stick them in a hoodie? Anything that will keep them from rolling around, possibly damaging them, breaking a cap, popping the seal.

Enter the Growler on Board.IMG_6830

Growler on Board is a triangle shaped piece of molded foam that has spots for three 64oz growlers, growlerettes will fit loosely but still more contained than if they were free in the trunk. It has a wide base and the shape and material grip the floor of the trunk so that the Growler on Board won’t move, mine has never slipped and my growlers have never come out. There is no reason to remove it from the trunk so it’s always with me and because it’s there I can store my empty, clean growlers in it. I keep my Geaghan Brothers and Black Bear
growlers right there all the time and if i’m heading somewhere else in the state I swap them out for the appropriate growler and I’m good to go.

The only complaint is that the Growler on Board isn’t a cooler, the growlers will get warm, so you might not want to use this for transporting growler over a long distance or extended trips but if you are just out for the day making stops it’s fine, bring them home and put them in the fridge.IMG_6834

I highly recommend this product for anyone who travels with growlers, at $29.95 it’s a small investment to protect your empty and full growlers from potentially rolling around and breaking, I’m very happy with mine, no buyers remorse here.

Cheers!
