Year of Employment at Allagash: 2008
Job Title: Accounting/Philanthropy
Favorite Allagash Beer? Black
Favorite Allagash Beer/Food pairing?
Black Beer Float and maybe a brownie on the side.
Have you always had this job or other jobs in the company?
When I first started I did all of our tours and worked in/managed our retail space. Then I did accounting/compliance. That has morphed into some compliance, some accounting and some philanthropy
What is the most enjoyable part of your work day?
The people. Connecting with and socializing with coworkers is my favorite part of the day.
What is your favorite memory from working at Allagash?
It’s hard to pick just one!
How has Allagash changed you as a person?
I think I have come to view business differently. Prior to working here, my experience with all businesses/corporations was very much that there wasn’t a lot of focus on social ethics/moral conscious. (I felt there was a lack of caring for employees, community, environment.) Allagash not only cares but makes it a priority and would sacrifice other things for the benefit of employees, community and the world in general.
What is it like working for Rob Tod?
Fun. You always have the sense that he knows what he’s doing, and you trust what he’s doing, but he never makes you feel intimated. He’s very open and welcoming and a fun person to be around.
This was the third day of interviews with longer running Allagash Brewing Company employees leading up to the 20th Anniversary street fair this Saturday, June 27, 2015. Check out out prior interviews with Jason Winchester and Jessica Caruso and keep an eye out for more interviews this week.
